The New Saturdays Will Rock Harder

Posted by muttonchops on July 31, 2008

So I am looking forward to the new format that we are looking to do on rock100diz.com. We have decided to run segments on saturday that will be in blocks of  ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, ’00s, and then close the night out by playing the local hard working bands. I believe that we will grow more and have the following that will take us to the next level. I look forward to hearing feedback from everybody and if you have andy suggestions on this please let me know.

“The Captain Says” - July 31st 2008

Posted by CapnChrisHill on July 31, 2008

OMG - It was off the chain. (see I had to even take mine off it was so hot in there!)
Thats the first time in 20 years I DJ’d at a roller rink!!!!
BIG SHOUT OUTS to the Womens Professional Football Team here in Orlando, as well as the Searcy Possie, Ms Pam and her crew and Markis and the Orlando Roll Bounce Possie - Hell even JR from Palm Bay as well as our own Mick Dolan, Chops and Paul Hollywood were in attendance last night! Next week I’ll try and have a guest DJ with me, as well as taping the show for re-broadcast on both RHYTHM96. com and OLDSKOOL101. com

The WEDNESDAY NIGHT ADULT THROWDOWN - 9:30 to 11:30 at UNIVERSAL SKATING CENTER - 866 S Goldenrod Rd - Orlando. Just south of the 408 on Goldenrod Road. (As I explained to 1 out of towner - Just follow the Airplanes as their landing at OIA, (Orlando International Airport) They fly DIRECTLY over head of the rink!!!

Also don’t forget for our “Rockers & Rollers” mark down the 1st and 3 Thursdays in September for “Rock then Roll” at Universal Skate Center.

Can the old man still rock the rink?

Posted by butchie on July 28, 2008

Do not adjust your calendars… it is NOT 1987, but Capn Chris Hill will be throwing down on the one and two (or a reasonable facsimilie thereof) THIS Wednesday night at Universal Skating Center… if you’re 18+, and are anywhere near Orlando, you HAVE to come hear for yourself if the oldster has a set left in him !!!

Wednesday Night 9:30-11:30pm… be there to witness time-tested perfection… or a spectacular train wreck!

Butchie Rockin the Biz-ox

Posted by butchie on July 24, 2008

You mean I get to play my favorite classic rock, and today’s hits, for the world to hear… all while I sit here on the couch in my Spiderman Underoos?  WHERE DO I F’ING SIGN UP?

Oh… I already signed up… for late mornings 9am-Noon eastern.  I guess I could drag my lazy behind out of bed by 8:58, caffeine up, and get these tunes playing on the computer, for you to start your workday to.
Please enjoy, and remember my old standby mantra… “If it’s too loud, you’re too old!”

NOW we know where the Big Oil profits go!

Posted by mickdolan on July 24, 2008

In case ya missed it, earlier this week all the big news outlets carried at least part of this story about how the Big Oil profits are divided up.

In a nutshell, here’s where all that money goes:
55% (!) goes to shareholders now, up from 30% in 2000 and just 1% in 1993
15% goes to finding more oil now, about the same % for last 15 years

30% goes to operating expenses, research and development and misc.

WOW!

(Below is the link to the AP story on the CBS website.
Read ‘em and weep)

My question is, “How can we fix this?”

“Failure to .Com-municate”

Posted by webmassa on July 23, 2008

Ok, so I guess after riding the Capn’s arse about posting, I should put a little digital ink down on here…

From the Director of Communications/Webmassa’s desk… Holy @#$% Batman (no I haven’t seen it yet), are we busy! Things are looking very good for some of the latest projects we’re working on here at A7BN.

Rock100DIZ.com is working on some things with Seven Mary Three and their upcoming show here in Central Florida, as well as getting ready to start a huge new Rock nite at Universal Skating Center (after party at the Cork Room); Rhythm96.com is steadily sounding better than ever and breaking out some hot new artists; Oldskool, well you should be hearing some pretty hard-hitting interviews coming up very soon, with some well-known artists from back in the day.

Another productive trip to Miami under our belts (thank God for GPS!). Also, talking with a fairly large marketing company about putting together a new “Dream Team” for the A7BN stations (this one is kinda top secret so I’ll tell you guys more when it starts coming together).

And that’s about all I can reveal at this time. So, there ya have it, ink from the Webmassa… NOW GET BACK TO WORK!

“The Captain Says” - July 23rd 2008

Posted by CapnChrisHill on July 23, 2008

Wow, July has certainly flown buy! Besides having Maurice “The General” Starr, come by for my daughter Kayla’s 8th birthday party, at least 1/2 of the staff showed up for the Pool party and BBQ. Thanks for making my “little” girl happy. Then we were off to Miami the next day for meetings and got to see my all time favorite record rep - Rod (RK) Kenny. Also had lunch at the last place Johnny Versace had ate ate before he was killed in front of his mansion (The News Cafe’) on South Beach, courtesy of Kristina Corrales and the AD Council (smile). Then it was time to turn around and drive back ($110 round trip in gas! - OUCH) Thank god Marty was behind the wheel, while we were reminiscing about this probably was our 100th trip “down to the bottom!”. We used to go down to Miami at least once a month back in the day! “Just get on the 826 and ride!”

Now its time to get back to reality and work on the upcoming Treal Concert at Universal Skating Center - August 1st, as well as coverage of the National Urban League convention July 30th -August 2nd, where Presidential hopefuls, John Mc Cain & Barrack Obama will speak. Patti Labelle, George Clinton and Nancy Wilson will be preforming as well.

Also the I will be doing something I have not done in over 20 years on Wednesday July the 30th, and that is DJ at a skating rink! I will be spinning at Universal Skate Center for the Adult session that night! HTH….

Oh, By the way when is the Director of Communications, going to tell us what’s up!!!

Free Stuff RULES!

Posted by butchie on July 22, 2008

Make sure you are LOGGED ON to the Capn Chris Hill Show every weekday between 3 and 6pm eastern for your chance to win CONCERT TICKETS.  He’ll be giving away pairs of tickets to see TREAL (”I’m Not Locked Down”) in concert, at Universal Skating Center in Orlando Florida.

One pair will be up for grabs each afternoon starting Wednesday July 23rd, thru the concert day of Friday August 1st.

If you don’t win, you can still go to the show and hang out with a few of the Rhythm96.com personalities (probably The Capn and Butchie)… tickets are just $15, and that includes skating from 7pm-Midnight, then the show from midnight to 2am.

Don’t say we’ve never tried to give you anything!!!
